Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says they deserved their 3-1 win against Liverpool.
In a see-sawing game, the turning point came when Gabriel Martinelli was gifted the chance to make it 2-1 after a mishap between Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson and captain Virgil van Dijk.
Arteta later said: "I'm very happy. It was a huge game that was going to dictate where we are and where we're going to be.
"What the players produced was phenomenal. When they do that I have to put my energy in too.
"We are connecting with our people. We tried to produce a video to tell them how much we need them. They [fans] got the best out of every player today.
"I couldn't [single out one player]. Jorginho got man of the match. I couldn't be happier. He's a real example."
On Liverpool, he added: "At the moment they are probably the best team in Europe and the levels they have, they are in incredible team.
"We have come so far and now it is about doing it consistently. Liverpool have done it for six to seven years.
"It gives us momentum and the way we have done it we are back on it - really excited."
