
Malaysia defended the women’s squash team gold at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games after defeating Hong Kong 2-1 in the final at Nagoya.
MALAYSIA successfully defended the women’s squash team gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games after defeating Hong Kong 2-1 in the final at Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena here today.
Aifa Azman put Malaysia ahead after defeating Ho Tze Lok 3-0 (11-9, 11-9, 12-10) in the first match.
Hong Kong levelled the score through Chan Sin Yuk, who defeated S. Sivasangari 3-2 in the second match.
Sivasangari made a shaky start, losing the first game 7-11, but fought back to take the next two games 11-9, 11-9 before losing the fourth and fifth games 5-11,7-11.
The pressure then shifted to Aira Azman, who emerged as the hero after defeating Lee Ka Yi 11-9, 11-5, 11-4 in the deciding match to ensure the gold remains with Malaysia.
The success confirmed Malaysia’s status as the best women’s squash team in Asia, following their victory at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
