MANILA, Philippines — Yulo brothers Carlos and Eldrew entered the floor exercise final in the 20th Asian Games men's artistic gymnastics at the Nagoya City General Gymnasium Rainbow Hall in Japan Monday afternoon.
A 2-time Olympic champion, Carlos emerged as the top qualifier in the floor exercise final with 14.600 points as Eldrew placed fourth with 13.966.
The top eight in each apparatus with a limit of two gymnasts per country advanced to the final
"Caloy" also made the vault final as the seventh placer in the qualifications with 13.649, while his teammate Juancho Miguel Besana rose as a "surprise" qualifier in fourth place with 13.933 points.
Caloy earned his third final event in parallel bars where he finished sixth with 14.266 points in the qualifiers.
Eldrew got another shot at a medal as he made the cut in the horizontal bar final.
Eldrew finished just outside the top eight at ninth with 13.433 points, but advanced since only two gymnasts per country are allowed to compete in the same final.
China and Japan each had three gymnasts in the horizontal bar final.
