Aston Villa are moving for Sevilla defender Gonzalo Montiel.
Estadio Deportivo says Villa have made contact with Sevilla for Montiel.
The wing-back has been linked with a return to Argentina, where River Plate are keen.
But he could yet stay in Europe with Villa offering Montiel a move to the Premier League.
Montiel is best known for scoring the decisive penalty in the 2022 World Cup final shootout against France.
