Aston Villa are pushing to sign Olympique Marseille midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.
The France international only signed for OM permanently from Arsenal last year.
But he could be on the way back to England, where he is wanted by Villa manager Unai Emery.
The pair worked together at Arsenal and Guendouzi is open to a reunion. Emery wants a deal settled this month.
The midfielder has missed former OM coach Jorge Sampaoli this season, having struggled to live up to last term's form under Igor Tudor.
