- Aston Villa have signed former Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka on a free transfer.
- Goretzka, 31, left the German giants at the end of last season when his contract expired after spending eight seasons at the Allianz Arena.
- Goretzka has 73 caps for Germany and was part of the squad at this summer’s World Cup.
- He looks set to replace Youri Tielemans after the Belgian star left Villa earlier this summer to join Manchester United.
- Villa are also closing in on signing Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson after losing the likes of Tielemans, Ezri Konsa and Morgan Rogers this summer.
