Aston Villa are interested in Southampton defender Jan Bednarek.
Meczyki says the 26-year-old Pole has been targeted by Villa as a replacement for Diego Carlos, who tore his Achilles tendon and is facing nine months on sidelines.
Bednarek's current Saints contract expires in 2025.
He made 34 appearances for Southampton last season, scoring 4 goals and earning 10 yellow cards.
A loan proposal is likely by Villa.
