Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone praised his players after their 0-0 draw with Champions League opponents Club Brugge.
While frustrated with the result, Simeone was happy with the attitude of his players.
Simeone said: “We had important chances, well generated, we played one of the best games of this season, due to rhythm, intensity, the rival, the peace of mind of not going crazy... many good things were seen but the goal has not arrived.
"(Alvaro) Morata's is the one that remains in all of our minds, but the goalkeepers are here to stop and the players are to be forceful or not, and in this round we did things very well, much better than in the first leg against them. I take away a lot of good things, honestly.
“I am optimistic, I always look for the important parts that the team has. Cunha is very good, Morata insatiably sought the goal, De Paul sought to rejoin the team, Axel entered with personality, Carrasco when we passed him to the right began to be something more electric... All those who started the match generated what I like to see a team that presses, that has intensity, that doesn't give up a ball... words are very nice, but what counts is reality."
