Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo says they're well placed to go for the title this season.
Handing the team a boost last week was the contract renewal of coach Diego Simeone.
Cerezo told Cadena Cope: "For a few years we have had a magnificent coach, a team, magnificent fans and managers. We have everything. I don't know any team in the world that plays well every match but this period is beautiful for us and every time you win the feeling is strengthened."
"Given the titles he has won... I never thought Simeone would leave Atletico, not even last year.
"We're one of the favourites to win the championship. The number one favourite in my opinion. I think every player thinks like me."
