- The incident involved Patrick McCabe, father and coach of Australian player James McCabe, following a dispute over practice courts at the Edgbaston Priory Club on Monday morning.
- James McCabe stated on Instagram that his father was “followed, physically handled by a staff member, and left in pain afterwards”, later confirming his father went to hospital.
- West Midlands Police confirmed they received a report of a man being assaulted at the venue on June 1, with enquiries ongoing and no arrests made.
- The Lawn Tennis Association, ATP, and Edgbaston Priory Club are also conducting an investigation into the allegation, stating they will not comment further while it is ongoing.
