RANAU: People here are advised to avoid open burning in view of the dry weather that is currently occurring in the district.
Ranau Fire and Rescue Department Chief, Ridwan Mohd Taib warned that it is vital for the public to refrain from practising open burning because even a sparkle could result in wildfire during the current condition.
"The public needs to prioritise safety first because fire in the open area could easily become uncontrollable and could turn disastrous with the risk of losing valuable assets, homes and even lives.
