National track cyclist Azizulhasni Awang secures bronze in the men’s sprint at the UCI World Cup in Perth, adding to his keirin gold from yesterday.

KUALA LUMPUR: National track cycling icon Datuk Mohd Azizulhasni Awang added a bronze medal to his weekend haul at the 2026 UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Perth, Australia.

The 38-year-old secured third place in the men’s individual sprint event after defeating Mikhail Yakovlev 2-0 in the third-fourth place decider at the Speed Dome.

This marks his second podium finish at this year’s World Cup, following his gold medal victory in the men’s keirin event just a day earlier.

Azizulhasni’s path to the bronze medal match came after a semifinal loss to Great Britain’s Matthew Richardson, who also won the contest 2-0.

Richardson went on to claim the individual sprint gold medal, overcoming Australian Leigh Hoffman 2-0 in the final.
