MANILA, Philippines — Making his first public appearance since the tragic passing of his players Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili, Ateneo Blue Eagles head coach Tab Baldwin attended the candle-lighting vigil in honor of the deceased players at the Zen Garden inside the Ateneo de Manila University Thursday.
Baldwin has been on a hot chair since the passing of his players due to drowning in a team-building activity last Sunday, with fans and netizens complaining about his silence.
It wasn't a personal choice for Baldwin to stay mum.
In a statement on Thursday, Ateneo said it directed Baldwin to refuse from making public statements 'to allow investigations to proceed properly and ensure that facts are established before any discussion'.
