The Ballon d’Or ceremony was held in London on Monday night – with 13 winners in total.
Harry Kane pipped Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal to the top prize, becoming the first Englishman in 25 years to win the men’s Ballon d’Or - world football’s most prestigious individual gong - after an astonishing 73 goals in 65 matches last season.
Alexia Putellas won the Women’s Ballon d’Or for the third time after being an integral part of Barcelona’s quadruple-winning campaign last season.
Yamal did take home the first prize of the night, though, winning the Young Talent of the Year award – though he believed his teammate Pau Cubarsi deserved the award instead. Spain boss Luis de la Fuente also picked up the Men’s Coach of the Year award after guiding his country to the World Cup in North America.
