Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Cross-Border Trade Association (SCBTA) co-founder Jericho Ang commended the Royal Malaysia Customs Department on its decision to lift the ban on rice and sugar transhipment activities in Sabah and Labuan.
The Department, in a letter released on Tuesday (July 25), confirmed that transhipment activities for rice and sugar have resumed on July 10.
Ang described the much-awaited move as a positive measure that will help in the economic recovery of ports in Sabah, particularly in Sandakan and Tawau, as well as in Labuan.
