Kota Kinabalu: Bangkit Sabahan 2.0 has called on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to reopen its investigation into alleged abuse of power involving Parti Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, claiming the case involves RM1.5 billion.
Speaking after the Bangkit Sabahan 2.0 gathering at Lintasan Deasoka on Saturday, adviser Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar (pic) said the group possesses evidence linked to the allegations but could not disclose it on the advice of its lawyers.
He said the group had lodged MACC reports in 2016 and 2017 and recently submitted another memorandum referring to those reports, adding that its contents could not be revealed as they might prejudice the matter.
Zulkarnain also said the group had no objection if the MACC decided to arrest or charge assemblymen linked to the Albert Tei videos, describing that as a matter for the commission's enforcement process.
He said the group objected to Gempur Rasuah Sabah 3.0 posters featuring Tun Musa Aman and Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, questioned why Shafie's alleged case had not proceeded to court despite previous remands involving several individuals, and urged the MACC to explain why the investigation had not resulted in charges.
