Bank Islam has stopped offering Haj registration through its branches, ATMs, BIMB Mobile and BIMB Web from 11 September 2026.
The change follows Lembaga Tabung Haji’s (TH) new Seruan Istito’ah – Pelan Persediaan Haji, which is designed to help depositors prepare for Hajj. Istito’ah refers to being financially, physically and spiritually prepared for Hajj.
Under the new system, you can get automatic Hajj queue eligibility once your TH savings reach RM15,000, without having to register manually. TH has also introduced Tabung Istito’ah, a separate savings pocket within your existing TH account for money set aside for Hajj.
Other Tabung Haji services through Bank Islam, including regular savings and withdrawals, will continue as usual.
Existing Hajj Registrants Have Until 2028
Around 80% of existing Hajj registrants have less than RM15,000 in their Tabung Haji savings. TH has given these depositors until 31 December 2028 to reach the RM15,000 requirement while keeping their existing place in the Hajj queue.
From 1 January 2029, TH will reorganise the queue based on the original registration date and when each depositor reaches RM15,000 in savings.
