BAP to be distributed starting next January

PUTRAJAYA - The Bantuan Awal Persekolahan (BAP) cash aid will be disbursed to schools starting January 2024, according to the Education Ministry (MOE).

In a statement today, MOE said the payment will be distributed to students in cash or credited to their respective accounts.

"MOE believes that BAP can help alleviate the financial burden of parents and guardians in preparing their children for the upcoming school session," the ministry said.

The 2024 budget had allocated RM788,130,000 specifically for BAP, providing a one-time payment of RM150 to each student.

This will benefit around 5,254,200 students across the country.
