Barcelona coach Xavi has asked president Joan Laporta to bring back Lionel Messi.
Sport says Xavi has urged Laporta to move to re-sign Messi at the end of the coming season. Xavi is close to the Argentine and believes he will be keen to 'close the circle' and play out his career with Barca.
While Messi will be 36 next summer, Xavi is convinced he will still have much to offer on the pitch.
Off it, Barca will be able to recoup the millions they've lost to PSG since Messi's departure last summer.
However, Barca face a battle, as PSG have conveyed to Messi their wish to extend his contract beyond 2023, when the deal ends. PSG have confirmed the great sporting and economic benefits of having Messi in their ranks and wants to extend this relationship.
