Barcelona coach Xavi was impressed by Girona for their draw.
Monday night's Catalan derby finished in a 0-0 stalemate.
On Girona coach Michel, Xavi said: "He is a very good coach. With Arnau inside in the first half he caused us problems. The summary of the game is that if we scored before half-time, it would have changed the story. We lacked effectiveness."
On Girona, he added: "We are up against teams who are playing for their lives. For them, this point is crucial in the fight for salvation. Next week in Getafe it will be a similar situation. Girona drew at the Bernabu and we have to give value to this league. Madrid lost against Villarreal... and we have to see it that way, even if others want to see it differently."
