Barcelona coach Xavi kept his word to the players after their Supercopa de Espana final victory over Real Madrid.

AS says Xavi gave his squad an incentive ahead of the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid. If they won the title, they would have two days off.

And the Blaugrana coach kept his word, announcing during the flight back to Barcelona, that he was releasing the players on Monday and Tuesday, so they will not have to return to training until Wednesday morning.

Since Xavi's arrival at Camp Nou, he has usually resorted to this type of initiative to motivate his players and keep the level of competitiveness at a maximum.

The challenges can range from holidays to invitations to lunches or dinners. In the case of the Spanish Super Cup, it was no training sessions for two days.

Barca will go to Cueta on Thursday for the next round of the Copa del Rey.
