Barcelona president Joan Laporta is confident Gavi will sign a new contract.
The midfielder's agent Ivan de la Pena has held a fresh round of talks this week.
"Gavi's contract renewal is about to be finalised," Laporta said. "We're in the final phase of sorting his new contract with the club."
Laporta continued: "We're closing the contracts with (Ronald) Araujo, the present and the future; Pedri, a reference already: we have Nico, Gavi, whose contract we're working on; and we have a young player from Racing Santander (Pablo Torre) coming in aged 19. We are building a team."
As with recent renewals, Gavi's release clause will rise to €1 billion and his salary will be similar to Ronald Araujo's, who renewed in April.
