Chelsea fullback Marcos Alonso remains a target for Barcelona this week.
Barca president Joan Laporta met with Alonso's agents on Monday and assured them that he would be signed before the market shut.
AS says Laporta has given his word to the player that he will do everything possible in the next 48 hours to close his signing.
It is a sporting issue and also a moral issue after months of conversations in which Alonso has rejected all other options in order to sign for Barça.
Meanwhile, fellow left-back Alejandro Balde will stay. Barca have informed interested clubs that the 19 year-old will not be leaving this week.
