Barcelona president Joan Laporta says they have rivals rattled after their summer market work.
Laporta was speaking from New York.
"I see our rivals have some concern about how we are signing," said the president.
"I see some rivals a bit uneasy about how we are doing things and that means we are doing them well. Although I don't get involved in what they are doing.
"The message we are sending to the soccer world is very clear: we are awake, we are back and we are going to compete for everything. Some had not gauged the strength of Barça and the drive of the new board of directors. Soccer does not wait and we are building a great squad."
