Barcelona have released a short statement after president Joan Laporta attended the Extraordinary Assembly of LaLiga today.

Laporta was seen shaking hands with nemesis Javier Tebas, the LaLiga president, and addressed leaders from Primera and Segunda clubs about the Negreira Case.

Barca stated: "The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, has appeared this morning at the extraordinary assembly of LaLiga called to deal with the so-called 'Negreira case'.

"The president, out of respect and courtesy to the professional clubs, has given the appropriate explanations about this case and, out of respect for the administration of justice, he has stated that the clarifications and doubts that LaLiga or the clubs may have after their explanations will be duly answered in court, where LaLiga is already present."

Laporta attended the LaLiga Assembly accompanied by Pere Llus Mellado, head of the club's legal services. His address lasted 20 minutes.
