Manchester City youth coach Brian Barry-Murphy has hailed his side's style and courage in the UEFA Youth League.

The Blues had to work hard to reach the last 16 of the competition this week.

City's youngsters played out an entertaining 3-3 draw against Borussia Dortmund's youngsters on Tuesday.

The game was full of action, with both sides going for it with exciting attacking play.

City have now progressed to the last 16 of the competition for the first time since the 2017/2018 season.

“It's amazing – the resilience the players have shown throughout this competition," said Barry-Murphy to club media.

“I think previous seasons have almost made a lot of young lads worry about this competition but to see us play with so much style and so much courage in this competition has been great for me.

“I can't wait for the adventure to continue somewhere else after Sevilla next week obviously.

“For myself and my staff, the unique challenge [this competition] poses is something I never even thought about before I came to the club.

“To expose our players to these situations where they have to perform or risk getting knocked out of the competition as we have done quite a lot in previous years is brilliant for them to have to overcome."
