Atlanta Braves star Mike Harris II has responded after he became a fan favourite among England supporters who went to watch a baseball game.
England supporters were in Atlanta after beating DR Congo in the World Cup but had decided to take in some MLB while out in the USA.
Just like their Scottish counterparts, they took over Truist Park and captured the hearts of fans around the world, and it was Harris II who the newfound Braves fans took a liking to.
England fans create new song for Mike Harris II
The Braves star is known as ‘Money Mike’ but English fans put their own twist on things by calling him ‘Money Michael’.
Every move he made was met with chants, including: “Harris give us a wave. Harris, Harris, give us a wave.”
“Baseball‘s coming home again, with Michael Harris!”, “There’s only one Michael Harris”, and “Walking in a Harris wonderland”.
It seemed like he loved it too as he shared a GIF of Harry Kane celebrating a goal on X in response to the support he received.
He also took time to sign shirts and show his appreciation to his new supporters, who were treated to an extra rendition of Wonderwall by the Braves’ stadium DJ.
Regular attendees also loved the support the English showed as they went up to ask for selfies, as well as buy drinks.
England fans will now be moving on to Mexico for their game against the co-hosts, but it is fair to say that they have loved Atlanta.
