MANILA, Philippines — After being downgraded to a tropical depression and later to a low pressure area on Saturday, the storm formerly known as “Basyang” has dissipated, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In a Facebook post, the weather bureau said the storm dissolved around 8 a.m. on Saturday, a day after it became a tropical storm, with signal no. 2 hoisted over several areas in the Visayas and Mindanao.
“No other Low Pressure Areas (LPA) are being monitored for Tropical Cyclone Formation,” Pagasa said.
The storm left four dead and displaced thousands in Visayas and Mindanao.
