Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso is firming as favourite to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.
The Italian is set to take charge of Brazil in 2024.
And Xabi is emerging as a likely successor, with Real president Florentino Perez impressed by the former Real Sociedad B coach.
Xabi is now in his second season at Bayer and would be willing to consider a Madrid move next year.
The former Real Madrid midfielder is now in his third year of senior coaching.
