Pokok Sena MP Ahmad Yahaya said the statement was surprising as at one point Rafizi had doubted MACC's ability in fighting corruption.

"Shouldn't this be Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) unity government's priority considering their initial lack of confidence in MACC previously?," he told Sinar.

He was referring to a statement made by Rafizi before the 15th general elections that PH government will go after MACC Chief Datuk Seri Azam Baki after the coalition wins.

Rafizi later explained that it was merely to serve as a “political sound bite”.

But Ahmad said no investigation papers have been opened against Azam Baki so far.

The central Pas Ulama Council chief stressed the leaders who were at the top of power were continuing PH's half-baked practice.

"They need to be serious in reforming the institutions," he said.
