Beau Greaves makes darts history with first win on European Tour

Beau Greaves became the first woman to win on the European Tour after defeating Daryl Gurney in the first round of the Czech Darts Open.

Greaves, who lost in a last-leg decider to former world champion Rob Cross on her European Tour debut last week in Hungary, trailed 3-1 before hitting back with 14, 13 and 11-dart legs to nudge ahead.

Gurney levelled again before the 22-year-old broke back before eventually pinning double one for the 6-4 victory, the first by a woman in the 15-year history of the European Tour.

She sets up a second-round clash with world No 2 Luke Humphries on Saturday, with Luke Littler, Gerwyn Price, Michael van Gerwen and Gian van Veen also entering in round two.

"It feels amazing," said Greaves. "It's just so nice to win a game, I was so nervous at the start, I don't know why. It took me so long to get settled, but luckily I did enough to win the game.

"It means loads to me, the crowd's fantastic. It's such a tight stage and you feel so much from the crowd. I'm really enjoying it and loving the experience.

"I've played Luke on the big stage before so I know what to expect, he's world class so I'm going to have to play a lot better than I did tonight.

"What more do you want than on a Euro Tour to play one of the best players in the world? I'll look forward to it and I'll be ready."
