BEAUFORT: The longstanding flood problem in Kg Bukau has been resolved following maintenance work on the Api-Api river involving a Federal Government allocation of RM500,000.
Lumadan Assemblyman Datuk Ruslan Muharam said the project included cleaning the river in two phases over a distance of 8.5 km.
He explained that the thick bushes along the 10km Api-Api river prevented the outflow of water especially when it rains heavily, which is the reason why floods subside very slowly.
