Some lunches are about the food. Others are about the people gathered around the table. This one was about both.
The occasion brought together the Beautiful Soul Sisters to celebrate the birthdays of Elsa Kapunan and this writer.
Also joining the gathering was Mme. Indri Akyol, wife of the Turkish ambassador, who will soon leave the Philippines following the completion of her husband's tour of duty. Birthdays and farewells do not often share the same table, but they did that afternoon.
The gathering became a double birthday celebration and a heartfelt bon voyage for our dear friend Indri as she prepares to leave Manila. Though she may be departing, she will always remain a cherished member of the Beautiful Soul Sisters.

A warm and delightful gathering recently brought together the Supremes' monthly birthday celebrants for a special luncheon hosted by the ever-gracious Ms. Celine Bautista. Held at The Peninsula Manila and Pardon My French, the intimate celebration welcomed a small circle of close friends for an afternoon of camaraderie and cheer.
Though modest in size, the gathering was rich in laughter, meaningful conversations and heartfelt birthday wishes. Guests joined the celebrants in marking another year of life's blessings, sharing a delightful meal while creating cherished memories in the company of dear friends.
