Malaysia is a country filled with multiple races, resulting into a vibrant and diverse culture. With that said, Malaysians live in harmony and are often respectful of each other’s culture and traditions. Just recently, a Malaysian couple has decided to do something different at their wedding, uniting the Kompang, Lion dance & Urumi drum ensemble!

According to a video posted by a TikTok user, @mizieayu8788, he shared that he had attended one of his friend’s weddings, in Melaka. While this may be a normal occurrence for many, what sets this wedding apart is the fact that his friends have hired a series of performance. Watching the video ourselves, the groom was seen dancing with his friends, while the Urumi drums ensemble was playing at the background.

On top of that, the couple has also hired a lion dance team and Kompang team, making their wedding the event of day for all their friends. Through their actions, the bride and groom have perfectly showcased the unity and harmony between the races in Malaysia, proving that Malaysians are capable of accepting each other’s culture.

Speaking to Wau Post, the groom’s friend expressed how happy he was to be able to share such a joyous moment during his friend’s wedding.

“I’m just happy and thankful that I was able to witness this. This video is to showcase our unity, please go ahead and share it to your audience”, he said.
