Most Malaysians have been incorporating other races’ cultures into their celebrations to show unity and love between each other, and this wedding adds a beautiful example to the list.

By blending diverse cultural traditions such as Kompang, Lion Dance, and Urumi Melam performances, the newlyweds showcased a heartfelt commitment to embracing and celebrating Malaysia’s rich multicultural heritage.

In a TikTok video shared by the groom’s friend (@mizieayu8788), it captured the joyous occasion and the harmonious fusion of traditions.

Adding to the magic of the event, the song played during the Urumi Melam performance was sung by Zubir Khan, a renowned Malaysian singer. Upon coming across the video, Zubir Khan expressed his gratitude, thanking those who performed his song at such a beautiful wedding.

Aside from the Urumi Melam performance, there was also a lion dance and kompang performance as well, reflecting the beauty of Malaysia’s multiracial and multicultural harmony.

Speaking to WeirdKaya, a friend of the couple explained that the entire performance was a complete surprise for the newlyweds, who had no idea what was coming.

We planned it out carefully to surprise the couples. As friends, our intention was to make the day beautiful and cheerful. As a multiracial community, I think this was the best surprise ever for the couple and guests.

He also added that this memorable celebration took place at Hang Tuah Hall, a historic and culturally significant venue located in Melaka. The choice of Hang Tuah Hall added an extra layer of tradition and heritage to the wedding, making it even more special.
