You have to applaud the entrepreneurial spirit of our healthy beggars!

They're everywhere in Kuala Lumpur these days.

You have hardly started your breakfast, and there they're by the side of your table pushing their tiny packs of tissues in your face.

It's a business they seem to say. "I offer you a pack of tissue" and you have to cough up whatever small change you have in your pockets and politely telling them you don't need a tissue, pointing to the white clean serviettes in front of you. It always happens when I have breakfast at Telawi 2 in Bangsar at my favourite French restaurant called Yeast.

Anyway, it's truly heartwarming to see them embrace the art of "sympathy capitalization" with such gusto.

Who knew that sitting by the roadside, counting your riches, and praying for another Good Samaritan to drop a few RM1 notes could be a lucrative profession?

We're referring to MYNEWSHUB Twitter page, showing an alleged beggar counting money donated by the unsuspecting public at a street corner, which appears to be quite substantial.

But let's not jump to conclusions; after all, this is merely an isolated incident caught on camera.

Who cares if the alleged beggar looks perfectly capable of working?

We should embrace the idea that begging is the new nine-to-five. Why break a sweat when you can break hearts and wallets instead?

Perhaps we've misunderstood the brilliance of these street-side financial wizards. Maybe they're saving up for a yacht or a private jet to transport them from one begging hotspot to another.

Who needs a job when you can have a career in curbside entrepreneurship?

Of course, we should ignore the fact that there are homeless individuals genuinely in need. They might not have the foresight to set up a secret counting corner. Shame on them for not recognizing the potential of their begging game!

So, let us celebrate the bold and audacious beggars of Malaysia.

Let us applaud their commitment to demonstrating just how easy it is to make a living by the side of the roadside in generous KL full of gullible Malaysian ready to donate to the co called poor.

Who needs dignity when you've got a bag full of RM1 notes and a hidden camera to expose your craftiness to the world?

Begging, my friends, is the new path to prosperity. It's as easy as ABC.
