MANILA, Philippines — Bela Padilla has gone public with her relationship with tech entrepreneur and CEO Martin Tan.
In an interview with content creator Johnny K for his Reel series “Meet Cute with Johnny K” posted Sunday, Padilla confirmed that she and Tan have been together for eight months.
The actress said they met through a common friend, but it was their shared interest in movies that sparked their connection.
“He said he liked movies, and I love movies also. So I was very, very excited when he started talking about films,” Padilla said.
When asked about his favorite thing about Padilla, Tan cited her personality and appearance.
“Her brain, and she’s funny, and beautiful,” he said.
Padilla then jokingly told him, “I’m going to pay him later.”
Asked what she likes most about Tan, Padilla said he is willing to join her in trying different activities.
“He’s game to try anything, like going to markets even if it’s early,” she said.
She also playfully complimented her boyfriend, saying, “He is pogi (handsome).”
Padilla added, “When he knows that I’m going through something, he’ll plan a trip… beach trips. I love that."
For Tan, it is the little notes Padilla leaves for him that make him feel loved.
Johnny K also asked the couple if they had already told each other “I love you,” which led to Padilla teasing Tan about his reaction.
“Why are you sweating?” she asked.
Padilla and Tan were first spotted together at the June 2026 opening of a pet lifestyle clinic owned by cosmetic doctors Dra. Aivee Aguilar-Teo and Dr. Z Teo.
Before Tan, Padilla was in a relationship with Swiss-Italian businessman Norman Bay. The two split in August 2025 after nearly five years together.
