BELLA Belen and Kianna Dy, both fan favorites with huge followings, expressed their excitement for the upcoming Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Star in Candon City, Ilocos Sur on May 1.

This marks the PVL’s first All-Star event of the professional era and the first for Spikers’ Turf since 2016.

The Class of 2025 first overall draft pick, Belen of Capital1 is already flashing her wit, and what she will do if she makes it to the cut of the All-Star list.

“I’m just really happy because it’s finally happening. So, if ever I get to join, do you want me to be the referee? It’ll be like, you’re just headed my way and you’re already getting a yellow card,” she told the media in Filipino.

“I’m just very happy that something like this is happening, and it’s also for the fans. Because for sure, they have players that they want to see together on one team, so this is the chance to fulfill that dream,” she added.

Belen topped the Best Scorer standings with an average of 24.38 points per game, fueled by a consistent seven-game streak of scoring 20 or more points for Capital1.

Her 20-point streak ended after losing to Cignal in straight sets last Saturday as she only chipped in 16 points.

For PLDT’s Dy, she thinks this is a way to connect to fans outside Metro Manila.

“I guess that’s also good for the fans who can’t make it to Manila. They’ll get to experience the games happening here since they aren’t able to travel,” she shared.

“It’s also good to bring it to Candon, and I think it’s going to be a fun event since I believe it’s the first time it’s ever happened there.”

Dy backed up Filipino Canadian scoring machine Savi Davison to allow the High Speed Hitters to enjoy a 7-1 win-loss card.
