MANILA, Philippines — Bella Belen was as hot as the sun after posting a new career-high performance and stuffing the statistical sheet with 30 points, 20 excellent digs and 19 excellent receptions that allowed the Capital 1 Solar Spikers to prevail over the Akari Chargers.
Capital 1, which suffered a five-set opening day blues against Choco Mucho, made sure that this time the team would cop the victory in a hard-fought 28-26, 22-25, 25-15, 23-25, 21-19 win in the 2026-27 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference-Siklab Series on Thursday afternoon at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
In the deciding set, both teams refused to back down in the fight after extending the set score to 19-all, with Akari’s duo Grethcel Soltones and Ivy Lacsina exchanging blows with Erika Santos and Fifi Sharma.
Belen, who was quiet on that frame, capitalized on the opportunity on the rotation as she slammed back-to-back kills when she was on the front row to allow the Solar Spikers to escape with a victory, 21-10.
Belen surpassed her career-high of 28 points that she posted last Feb. 12, 2026, against the PLDT High Speed Hitters
The Solar Spikers tallied a 1-1 win-loss record, while the Chargers fell to 0-2.
