BERMAZ Xpeng has announced a recall campaign for the Xpeng X9 in Malaysia over a potential issue involving the MPV’s front air springs.
The recall follows Xpeng’s voluntary recall in China involving certain X9 units produced before August 11 2025. Bermaz Xpeng says vehicles from other production batches are not affected.
For X9 units confirmed to be affected in Malaysia, Bermaz Xpeng will replace the complete front air suspension assembly free of charge, though the company has not stated how many X9 units in Malaysia are affected by the recall.
Bermaz Xpeng will also extend the warranty for the front air suspension system to eight years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first, calculated from the vehicle’s original registration date.
Importantly, the extended warranty is transferable with the vehicle, meaning it will continue to apply even if ownership changes within the coverage period.
Bermaz Xpeng says it is currently coordinating with regional partners and the relevant authorities to ensure parts supply, technical procedures and service capacity are ready for the recall.
