Kota Kinabalu: Bersih Sabah claimed on Tuesday that its executive director, Asraf Sarafi (pic), was barred from entering Sabah upon arriving at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA), four days before the Gempur Rasuah Sabah 3.0 rally scheduled for this weekend.
Bersih Sabah vice-chair Fadhil Kasim said Asraf was informed he had been placed under a Notis Amaran Sabah (NAS), which the group claimed was issued on the instruction of the Chief Minister, adding that Bersih would issue an official statement on the matter.
In a Facebook post, Asraf said he had travelled from Kuala Lumpur after attending discussions on reform and submitting a memorandum calling for a Royal Commission of Inquiry into alleged corporate mafia activities, but was instead told he would be deported back to Kuala Lumpur.
He said the restriction prevented him from reuniting with his Sabahan wife and their two children after spending a month in Kuala Lumpur.
Asraf added that he had travelled to Sabah regularly for the past 18 years and described the incident as a sacrifice in his struggle against corruption.
The State Government has yet to comment on the allegations.
