Besiktas striker Vincent Aboubakar admits he held talks with Manchester United.

The Cameroon forward, who left Al-Nassr when Cristiano Ronaldo signed for the Saudi league club, was available in January.

United ended up securing Wout Weghorst for manager Erik Ten Hag, with Aboubakar heading back to Besiktas.

The 31-year-old told Canal Plus: Before signing for Besiktas, I was also in talks with Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.

After the talks, I said to Besiktas; 'If you give me what I want, it won't be a problem for me to come back'.

And I returned to Besiktas."
