New bars in KL and PJ – May edition:
Lavantha

Although not a newcomer, Lavantha makes a return to the spotlight this May with a refreshed concept that shifts how guests experience bottle service. Its latest approach introduces a distinctive format where purchasing a bottle unlocks access to an extensive catalogue of more than 100 classic cocktails. Each selection is prepared using the chosen spirit by the bar’s team which allows guests to explore a wide spectrum of drinks without additional cost.
The collection spans generations of cocktail history, moving from early recipes of the 19th century through to contemporary favourites, offering a journey through time in liquid form. Alongside this, Lavantha continues to present its rotating signature menu, updated every few months to showcase new ideas and flavour combinations. For those seeking something lighter, a dedicated range of well-balanced chuhais provides an easy-drinking, lower-ABV option without compromising on flavour.

Standouts include Robert Lomax, a serve reminiscent of a Negroni, lifted by orange notes and an unexpected infusion of pei pa, a Chinese herbal remedy that lends a distinctive botanical depth. For something lighter, Flower Power offers a mix of gin, thyme and elderflower liqueur, topped with a cloud of elderflower foam and accented with fresh thyme.
