Make video calls with the 2MP camera and the 5.5in display screen can be synced up with compatible doorbells and used for displaying pictures digitally too. Concerned about privacy? Amazon’s newest and cheapest Alexa smart speaker has been reduced by a massive 60 per cent this Prime Day. “The Amazon Echo Pop is exceedingly good value. It’s fast and responsive, thanks to the improved processor, and it’s one of the cutest Amazon Echo devices we’ve ever laid eyes on, with two bright, deep colours and two more muted colours to choose from,” our writer said in their review. Ideal for kids’ bedrooms and bathrooms, this will bring Alexa to any room, at an affordable price.

Here’s a 46 per cent saving on the second-generation Echo Show 8. Like other members of the Show family, this is a smart speaker that can be used to stream content from services like Netflix, Sky News and Spotify. It also has the Alexa voice assistant built in, so you can ask questions, set timers and alarms, ask for recipe ideas and view live footage from Ring video doorbells and security cameras.
The Echo Show 8 has an 8in display and is available in black and grey. There’s also a camera on the front for video calls, which also doubles as a home security camera for while you’re out. A sliding plastic cover ensures the camera can easily be obscured, and the microphone switched off.

The device won top spot in our round-up of the best Amazon smart speakers, with our tech writer Alex Lee stating it’s “the best all-round smart speaker. It’s not too big, not too small, has excellent sound and isn’t too expensive”. It has an integrated smart hub, so you don’t need to create a smart home skill to connect devices. “It sounded rich, detailed and oh, could it get loud. Plus, we were able to set up personalised voice recognition for each family member, and Alexa skills worked a dream.”

With a £55 saving up for grabs, there’s no better time to pick up an Amazon Echo Studio, which was named best-sounding Amazon Echo in our guide. Made up of multiple speakers, including two mid-rangers pointing upwards and a woofer that points downwards, this immersive speaker is for the audiophiles out there. “If you appreciate good sound and want your music to sound as crisp and sublime as possible, the Studio has you covered, with support for Dolby Atmos,” our writer said. The device is designed for cars without built-in AI features, so you can get hands-free help from Alexa while driving. Ask for your favourite music to be played on streaming apps like Spotify and Apple Music, listen to podcasts and books on Audible, make calls and send texts. There are five in-built microphones and they can be electronically disconnected when not in use.

The 5th generation of Amazon’s Echo Dot Kids smart speaker is discounted by nearly 60 per cent. The deal includes one year of Amazon Kids+, plus parental controls for peace of mind, including child-friendly Alexa responses and control over time limits and volume settings. While we haven’t tested this generation at IndyBest, our tester (and their four-year-old helper) put the previous (4th) generation to the test, and found Amazon Kids took just 10 minutes to set up with enough content “to keep even the most inquisitive child happy almost endlessly”.

As the name suggests, this is just like the regular Echo Dot, but it come with an integrated clock face projected through the sleek smart speaker.
