KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19 — Cameron Highlands MP Datuk Ramli Mohd Nor and Lanang MP Alice Lau were elected the new deputy speakers in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Ramli, who is from Umno, garnered 148 votes while Lau bagged 146 votes.
Both deputies were nominated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and seconded by Deputy Prime Minister II Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
