RANAU: A body found on a hilltop near Kampung Paus, here, on February 13, was reportedly not of a man reported missing while on a fishing trip.

The almost-decomposed body's has not yet been identified, said the Ranau Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Assistant Fire Superintendent Ridwan Mohd Taib, in a statement.

Advertisement"The body was found about 15 kilometres from the location of the victim Mokthar Azrin Amat, 30, who was reported missing while out fishing in Sungai Gayo Nagas Ponulagon, since February 3," he was quoted as saying.

"However, the victim's identification results made by family members yesterday found that the body was not that of the person who was reported missing."
