
TAWAU: The body of a man was found floating in a Kg Iban Merotai river, around 4pm, on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Tikung Anak Guma, 71.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the discovery was made by a 15-year-old student who was crossing the village bridge to return home after playing football in the village field.
He said the body was spotted floating near the riverbank close to the Kg Iban bridge.

“Preliminary findings found no criminal elements or foul play. The case has been classified as sudden death,” he said in a statement.
