THE body of a man who was swept away by a sudden surge of water in Sungai Klang near the Saloma Link earlier this week has been discovered downstream in Kampung Sungai Kandis, Shah Alam.

Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam, confirmed the recovery of the body at about 10.30am today.

He said further details will be disclosed during an upcoming press conference. “The victim’s body will be taken to Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem examination,” he said.

The man had been reported missing on Monday after he was carried away by a powerful rush of water at around 5.40pm while carrying out river improvement works near the Saloma Link.

At the time of the incident, 13 workers were on site. Sazalee previously stated that 12 of them were rescued — seven Indonesians, four Bangladeshis and one Malaysian.

More than 200 personnel from multiple agencies had been deployed in the search and rescue operation, which had continued for several days until today’s discovery. - November 21, 2025
