KENINGAU: A search and rescue (SAR) operation for two drowning victims was completed on Sunday afternoon after the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Water Rescue Unit recovered the body of the second victim.
The victim was located by fire department divers at 3.55pm, approximately 80 metres from where they were last seen, bringing the two-day multi-agency search to a close.
Expressing condolences to the victims' families, the SAR team representative praised the strong coordination between the various agencies and residents who assisted in the operation.
The body was handed over to the police for further action and a post-mortem before burial release.
