
KENINGAU: A 16-year-old boy was found drowned in Sungai Pagalan near the Pagalan Ferry Jetty along Jalan Bakti Logam on Sunday morning, during the second day of a search and rescue operation.
The victim was located on the riverbed at 10.34am by the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department's Water Rescue Unit from the Kuala Penyu station, approximately 50 metres from where he was last seen.
Search operations, which resumed at 9am using surface searching and diving methods across a three-kilometre radius, were conducted jointly by 14 firefighters alongside police and Civil Defence Force personnel.
Rescuers are continuing efforts to locate the second victim, a 13-year-old boy, as surface and underwater searches remain ongoing.
